FAQ
Q. What is the average turnaround time to get my document filed with the California Secretary of State? A. The average turnaround time for California is 7-10 business days. This time can vary greatly throughout the year. There are times business corporate type filings are returned back within a couple business days and there are times when it can take longer than 10 business days. The time of year will impact the turnaround time, such as at the end of/beginning of the year, where the Secretary of State is inundated with filings to be accepted by a certain date. Other slow down interruptions include holidays, budgetary/staff changes to departments, and political meetings etc. We cannot guarantee turnaround times, but can keep track every day as to how long it is taking requests to be completed with our experienced staff. Please inquire with our staff for all other worldwide jurisdictions. Q. What is the average turnaround time to get a copy of something already filed with the Secretary of State? A. The average turnaround time for California is 7-9 business days to get a copy of most documents already on file with the Sec. of State, however, to retrieve a good standing/status certificate, the state has a priority section for these and the turn around time in California is 1-3 business days. This time can vary during the year, as there are peak busy times at the Secretary of State. Sometimes it can take longer than the expected turnaround time, and sometimes we can receive back the documents very quickly (within a couple business days). We cannot guarantee turnaround times, but we keep track every day as to how long it is taking requests to be completed. Please inquire with our staff for all other worldwide jurisdictions. Q. Can you complete my corporate type filing document and form for me? A. No, our office does not fill out any information that is not provided by the client. We are able to make minor corrections with proper guidance from the client. We do not practice legal advice, and will always recommend speaking with a law practice to confirm any doubt on questions for material/data entry to all documents and forms. We are happy to look over your form and make sure it is filled out properly and give procedural advice with our opinions only. We cannot guarantee that a filing will be accepted by ANY Secretary of State's office. Secretary of State's office forms and examples are available on their website at: http://www.ss.ca.gov. However, our experienced staff does PREPARE & FILE all UCC type filings, WORLDWIDE! Q. What is the State's RUSH Expedite service offered? A. The California Secretary of State implemented a RUSH process to help cater to the quick turnaround time needs of many clients. This process is available for Corporation and Limited Liability Company filings ONLY. The normal State form filing fees will apply, along with a counter fee of $350 (State required fee). If for any reason the document is rejected, the Secretary of State's office will keep the counter fee. Our fee will also apply for the attempt to file, so it is important to be accurate with RUSH filings. To resubmit your rejected forms, both State and APFSS fees will be required again for any and all documents. This also applies to routine/non-rush filings. This also applies to filings filed in any other Secretary of State’s office jurisdiction worldwide. |
